SEO experts and webmasters would benefit from a recent study about Google My Business, which revealed that businesses receive an average of 59 actions from their listings every month. This means that around 5% of listing views lead to a direction request, call, or website click.
The study took into account 45,000 local businesses as well as the insight trends of Google My Business in four countries and 36 industries. Through this, a benchmark for searches, actions, calls, photos, profiles and overall growth could be established.
Another key finding is that a business is found in 1,009 searches monthly or around 33 times per day. 84% of these searches are queries not about the specific name of a business, but for a business category instead.
Moreover, the study also noted that searches in Google My Business increased. From 2017 to 2018, direct searches grew to 38% and discovery searches to 6%. On top of that, websites received 22% more calls from their GMB listings as well as 29% more website clicks. However, direction requests decreased by 13%.
Through these findings, SEO professionals and webmasters are advised to have more images in their GMB listings to garner more views.
