This Is What You Need To Know About The Google+ Shut Down On 2nd April

Google+

It has been announced that Google+ will finally be shutting down on 2nd April. All SEO professionals, website owners, and social media analysts now only have around two months left to retrieve their data since Google+ will delete content from consumer accounts starting on the said date. This includes Google+ pages as well as photos and videos, unless they are backed up in Google Photos.

First announced in October 2018, Google+ will be shut down because of low consumer adoption and data breach. It was originally going to be shut down on August 2019, but was moved to an earlier date because of another data breach.

On top of that, there are other dates that SEO experts, webmasters and social media analysts should take note of. On 4th February, users will not be allowed to create new profiles, pages, communities, or events in Google+ anymore. On 7th March, Google+ commenting will be removed from all websites. Finally, owners and moderators of Google+ Communities will be able to download a full set of data from their communities in early March.

On the other hand, Google+ for G Suite will still be active, and there are no plans to shut down the enterprise version at the moment.
