Google has officially announced that SEO companies and website owners can now use the Web Stories WordPress plugin as it is currently out of the beta phase. By accessing this feature at the WordPress Plugin Repository, good SEO companies and webmasters can create compelling content in the Google Web Stories format in order to attract more visitors to their websites.
This plugin was initially available at GitHub, but that was during its beta stages. Now, its version 1.0 has been officially released, and SEO agencies can enjoy all the features this WordPress plugin has to offer.
Web Stories allows one to create shorter, easily digestible versions of their existing content. When a reader gets interested, they can click on it to read the entire article.
This means that the content will be presented as tappable texts to the readers, just like how one engages with posts on Snapchat or Instagram. With this plugin, creating stories has become much simpler from a technical perspective.
The plugin also has some amazing features, such as standardised UI controls and components that allow users to easily share and add follow-on content to their Web Stories. It also supports analytics for viral sharing, and even has monetisation capabilities, as long as publishers use affiliate links.
Web Stories offers advanced customisation tools, such as gradient editing, image masking, saved styles and colours, re-envisioned visual media galleries, and in-depth visual editing features.
Aside from that, they also have convenient templates and a drag-and-drop interface, allowing any good SEO company to easily publish their content.
They also have a huge source of high-quality videos and photos thanks to Google’s partnership with various stock video and image providers, allowing all users to make web stories that are both creative and appealing to readers.
Some of the resources they have collaborated with are Coverr and Unsplash, but they promise to add more features, stock media integrations, and templates to the plugin in the future. Google also announced that they will launch interactive virtual events and forums for Q&A to build a community of Web Stories users.
Web Stories can be embedded and shared in various websites and applications without having to be confined to a single ecosystem. Most of them will appear at the top of the Google Search results, but there are many other places where one can put their Web Stories. Aside from Google Search, they can appear in Google Images, Google Discover, and the Google App.
The plugin can simplify the format of any existing content, but the requirements should be met before they can appear as Web Stories. For instance, it requires videos to be in a vertical layout instead of horizontal.
Moreover, the plugin requires webmasters and SEO companies to limit their Web Stories’ word count to a minimum of 200 with a font size of no more than 24 pixels.
Aside from content requirements, the plugin also needs users to have a WordPress Version of at least 5.3.1 and above. The PHP version should also have a minimum version of 5.6.
Right now, users can download the Web Stories WordPress plugin at the WordPress Plugin Repository. It can also be installed easily through the admin dashboard on the Plugin admin page.
Although sharing existing content through the latest plugin is now made easier than ever, businesses must not neglect the value of having compelling blogs and news articles written by professionals.
