Google Set To Launch Page Experience Algorithm Update In Mid-June

how to find the best google seo specialist

Google SEO specialists were looking forward to the rollout of the Page Experience algorithm update in May. However, Google recently announced that they are pushing the release date to mid-June, giving SEO specialists more time to prepare for the changes to come.

Although the Page Experience algorithm update will be released in June, the search engine giant said that they will not implement its full role in the search engine rankings until late August. According to Google, their team will be gradually implementing the algorithm within this time period.

They compared the process to preparing food. Instead of adding the flavouring all at once into the mix, they will add it slowly over time to make sure that everything turns out well.

One major reason for the gradual rollout is to observe any unintended or unexpected issues throughout this period. Nevertheless, the new release schedule of the algorithm update leaves website owners and SEOs with another month to get ready, which is plenty of time.

Once the update rolls out, Google reminded the SEO community that they should not expect drastic changes at all because page experience is just one of the many factors that the search engine considers when ranking webpages. Everything that Google SEO specialists know about the update remains the same since it is related to the search results.

Along with the Page Experience algorithm rollout comes changes within Google News. This involves the expansion of non-AMP content use across Google News and its mobile apps. Moreover, the search engine company will remove any AMP badges that indicate AMP content.

A new Page Experience report will be also available in Google Search Console, which mixes all Core Web Vitals report with other page experience signals. Here are some of them:

Mobile usability. There should be no mobile usability errors in a URL to make it qualified for Good status.

Security issues. If a website faces security issues, all its URLs will automatically be disqualified for Good status.

HTTPS usage. Pages must be served over HTTPS to qualify for Good status.

Ad Experience. A website should not use advertising techniques that are harmful to the user’s experience. This also includes any interrupting or distracting ads. If a website is reported to have a poor ad experience, the system will consider all the pages on the website to have a poor page experience as well.

The Page Experience report will measure a website’s page experience based on an evaluation of the factors mentioned above. Webmasters and SEO specialists can also study and analyse their reports to gain insights on how to improve their website and SEO strategies.

Aside from the Page Experience algorithm update, Google has also updated the Search Performance report in Search Console, now allowing it to filter pages with good user experience. The report will also help SEOs and webmasters see the differences between their pages with good experience and the other pages on their website.
