For SEO UK experts and site owners using a recipe markup, Google may now give you the option of filtering performance reports in the "search appearance" options. This is a newly added filter option in the Google Search Console.
Where are the filter options? The aforementioned filters can be accessed by logging into the Google Search Console. After that, click on the "performance report" then select the "+New" option to choose "search appearance…"
You will see these two new recipe filters within those options:
- Recipe rich results; and
- Recipe Gallery
Here's a sample screenshot:
What do the filters show? Google will help you determine your performance in the search results using those recipe search appearance filters. In this chart from Glenn Gabe, you'll see the data begin to appear from 31 May of this year.
The new filters options are confirmed by Google's John Mueller via a recent Tweet. He said "Yep, these are pretty new" reports.
Why you should care. This new report provides everyone with the flexibility to refine their performance reports within the Google Search Console. From here, you can see a more detailed performance report on your recipe structured data. These reports also complement the debugging reports that Google recently added in the recipe markup.
How You Can Add More Hours In The New Update In Google My Business
In the recent update to Google My Business, you can now add different sets of hours for particular services in your GMB account. In other words, you can now specify which of your services are open at which times, if they're not otherwise available throughout the full day.
This update improves service for customers, as they can easily find out when each part of the business is open. Here's a list of services that you can add particular hours on:
- Happy hours
- Delivery
- Brunch
- Drive-through
- Takeout
- Kitchen
- Pick up
- Senior hours
This is a feature that has been included specifically as a result of the ongoing pandemic, allowing companies to adapt to the new norm of business operations. Businesses can now also add hours for services like takeaway food that they weren't previously offering.
Before this feature was added, companies were only allowed to fill out one set of opening hours for each day of the week.
Here's how you can add specific hours in your Google My Business account:
1. Log in to your GMB account.
2. If you have several locations, click and open that one you want to add more hours to or manage.
3. Click the Info section.
4. Click the Edit icon that comes just after the "More hours" option.
5. In the "More hours" options, choose the set of hours that's appropriate for the service.
6. Choose the day of the week that you want to update and add more hours.
7. After adding the hours, click "Apply".
Specific opening hours can be added for each particular type of service that is on offer. These will be shown to searchers on the chosen days of the week, and customers will be able to view them via Google Search and Google Maps.
