- Broad Core Algorithm Update
Google released a broad core algorithm update last September 24. SEO companies and webmasters were given advance notice about it, making this the second time the search engine giant made an announcement regarding such an update. This can be seen as part of Google’s move to take webmaster outreach to the next level.
The update, dubbed as the September 2019 Core Update, rolled out hours after the announcement. According to Google’s Danny Sullivan, they cannot say when it would end because of other regular updates that are also happening. But he confirmed that it would only last for a few days.
Now that the September 2019 Core Update is live, ranking fluctuations may be experienced. Those who will experience a sudden drop in ranking during this time are not penalised. Instead, they’re only reassessed against other contents online that have been published since the last update was rolled out.
Sullivan also advised all SEO experts and webmasters that the guidelines they gave for the past broad core algorithm updates also apply to this one. Therefore, everyone is told to concentrate on providing quality content when dealing with the impact of the broad core algorithm update. Improvements can also be implemented, but they do not guarantee recovery.
